Trikha caste

Mostly found in The regions of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab, Trikha caste is a part of Kamboj clan. There are a total of 52 gotra/subdivisions of this caste. The Indo Aryan people have vivid settlement patterns. 

Trikha is a Khatri community that follows all the usual Hindu festivals like Holi Diwali, Dussehra, Rakshabandhan and Makar Sankranti. They speak Hindi as their mother tongue and have strong ancestral connections while making them good traders.

Trikha caste members can also be found practising Sikh religion because of their settlement in Punjab. It is also important to note that Trikha community members settled in the Punjab areas might speak Punjabi as their mother tongue instead of Hindi. The exact language selected for communication completely depends on the family background education and geographical influences.

The Trikha Khatri caste members derive their name from kshathriya caste of Hindu Varna. It is believed that khatris acquired a complete monopoly in the trades of Afghanistan and Punjab. They were the major administrators and had special ability in selling and procurement of grains. As of now, many Trikha caste members are involved in education and other civil professional services. They are also merchants of clothes and spectacles. Many Trikha members trade outside the areas of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh while consolidating their empires enormously.

Some of the earlier Khatri individuals also served as soldier armies. They respected widow remarriage and opposed nonviolence. The Trikhas have been excellent governors and soldiers of many states during the previous historical era.

Trikha acquires a very prominent upper caste position in the Hindu Varna system. They are a mix breed of sikh and Hindus because of the Punjabi influences. The community is very dedicated towords following their religious norms and believes in marrying within the caste.
